Quests

A 200-mod sandbox with no direction is how people bounce off modded Minecraft. The quest book is the answer to “what do I even do now” — 43 chapters, from chopping your first log to flying a ship you designed.

You are never forced into it. Ignore it entirely and nothing is withheld from you. But it is also the fastest way to learn what’s actually in this pack, because most of the chapters exist to introduce a mod you didn’t know was installed.

Opening the book

The quest book is an item. You get one automatically on your first join — check your inventory. Lost it? Craft another from a book and any dye, or ask in Discord.

How it’s laid out

Chapters come in two kinds, and they behave differently.

The progression chapters are the spine. They run in order — getting established, learning Create, the first machines, and eventually airships. If you’re new, follow these and let the rest wait.

The addon chapters are one per Create addon in the pack. There are far more of these, and they are deliberately not a sequence. Each one is a self-guided tour of a single mod: what it adds, what it’s for, and what you can build with it. Dip into whichever one catches your eye.

The addon chapters are the pack's index

This pack ships a lot of Create addons and nobody memorises them. If you ever think “I wonder if this pack has a mod for X”, the chapter list is the fastest way to find out.

Rewards

Rewards are drawn from the chapter’s own mod. A chapter about a given addon pays out in that addon’s items — so finishing it leaves you holding the things you just learned to use, rather than a pile of generic loot.

Difficulty is tiered, and the later tiers are genuinely demanding. A tier-3 gate can ask for 32 Precision Mechanisms, 16 Sturdy Sheets and 8 Refined Radiance. That is not a typo, and it is not meant to be done on your first evening.

Claim Blocks appear as rewards too, which means land comes from playing rather than from asking staff for more. See claims.

If a quest looks impossible

Some gates are meant to be long-term goals rather than next steps. Before assuming something is broken:

  1. Check the tier. Later chapters assume an established base and automation
  2. Check you have the mod’s earlier chapter done — addon chapters often assume you’ve met the mod’s basics
  3. Ask in Discord — if a quest genuinely can’t be completed we want to know, and that has happened before

Reward says "Missing Item"?

That’s a bug on our side, not something you did wrong. Report it in Discord with the chapter name and we’ll fix the quest — you won’t lose the reward.

  • create-basics — if the early chapters assume knowledge you don’t have yet
  • claims — for the Claim Block rewards
  • airships — where the progression chapters are ultimately taking you
